Sewing Adventure

Yesterday my oldest child ran out of underwear. We were stuck for a moment, my husband and I, wondering what to do fast. Believe it or not sewing a panty was the best solution. It was also my husband’s idea. He helped me trace and cut the material. I started to thread my sewing machine and 20 minutes later my girl had undies. My family went on with our day.

I smiled at my man. I smiled at my girls. I was happy that my husband bought me this sewing machine. He gave it to me during quarantine. Sewing machines were extremely hard to get at one point. I got so discouraged with my failed search that I let it go. I thought to myself this wasn’t the time for that. My husband came through and surprised me. He reminded me that he said he would get the machine for me. I was stuck on things happening now and in the way that I wanted them to. I forgot that I have a loving, giving human in my life that listens to my wants and needs.

I shared a fun moment with my family yesterday. I tickled myself trying something new to me. Sewing is a skill I chose to learn for life. Well I got to reap the benefits of having my machine when I made my girl’s underwear. That was an Ausome moment in my life. By the way, the underwear was messy, but I was proud.

I am one amazing human being named Willa Strong. I actually wrote my first book at 9 years old, it was called "The Kidnap". Now at 40 years my vision to be one of the best writers in the world is being fulfilled with the start of this blog. I am happy to give a voice to my three special children with autism and our family. Their struggles and their success have inspired me to give this life all that I have. Thank you for the support Strong-Walker Tribe. I love you!
